1. Scope of application:

It is suitable for CMP grade wire and cable and optical cable air duct test. It is required to lay a number of samples on the horizontal air duct of the test device, and burn them with an 86KW gas Bunsen burner (300,000BTU/Hr) for 20 minutes. The eligibility criterion is that the flame does not extend more than 5 feet (1525 mm) from the front of the gas Bunsen burner flame. The peak value of optical density is 0.5 and the average density value is 0.15. This CMP cable is typically installed in ventilation ducts or in air return booster systems used in air handling equipment and is approved for use in Canada and the United States.


2. Compliant standards:

2.1 Comply with UL910 "Test Method for Fire and Smoke Characteristics of Electrical and Optical-Fiber Cables Used in Air Handling Spaces transporting environmental air" standard.

2.2 Compliant with NFEPA 262 "Standard Method of Test for Flame Travel and Smoke of Wires and Cables for Use in Air-Handling Spaces" standard requirements;


3. Main performance parameters:

3.1 Instrument composition: intake chamber, intake gate, combustion test chamber (tunnel furnace), gas burner, removable top cover, exhaust transition section, exhaust duct, exhaust duct wind speed measurement system, smoke density measurement system, Exhaust pipe wind speed control, gas analysis system, computer acquisition and control and soot purification system.

3.1 Intake chamber

3.1.1 Structure: It is composed of L-shaped stainless steel plate and stainless steel components;

3.1.2 Air inlet: h298.5*w464 rectangular opening

3.2 Combustion chamber

3.2.1 The length is 7.62m;

3.2.2 Structure: The bottom and both sides are made of 230*115*65mm refractory bricks, the long side is 230mm vertical to the wall, and the wide side is 115mm parallel to the wall.

3.3 Observation window:

3.2.6.1 There is a row of observation windows on the front of the combustion chamber;

3.2.6.2 Installation position: It is installed at 152mm from the mouth of the combustion chamber, and the length of the burner and the test sample can be observed. From the beginning of ignition and combustion to the end of the test, the entire combustion test can be observed from the outside.

3.3 Burner

3.3.1 Burner: a dual-port elbow combustion nozzle, the diameter of the nozzle opening is 19mm, the distance from the centerline of the burner to the centerline of the nozzle is 102mm, the nozzle opening to the inner surface of the upper cover plate is 191mm, to the cable test. The sample is 51mm, providing the flame upward, engulfing the entire sample.

3.4 Trapezoidal bridge for cable sample installation

3.4.1 Trapezoidal cable tray used to support a single bundled cable or cable in a trough (bus duct) sample.

3.5 Exhaust transition section

3.5.1 Composition: It consists of exhaust section and variable diameter section;

3.6 Exhaust duct

3.6.1 Length: from the inner diameter of 406mm circular variable diameter section to the center line of the smoke density measurement system is 5.0 long;

3.7 Measurement section:

3.7.1 Wind speed measurement: At a distance of 500mm from the center line of smoke density, use a two-way probe and a differential pressure gauge to measure and measure the wind speed. The axis of the probe is installed along the center line of the pipeline. Measuring range: 0.25~100Pa;

3.8 Smoke density measurement

3.8.1 Installation position: installed in front of the straight circular pipe 5.0 meters away from the exhaust end of the exhaust transition section;

3.9 Exhaust duct valve:

3.9.1 Install an electric exhaust valve in the exhaust duct 1.68 m ± 0.15 m downstream of the smoke measurement system;

3.9.2 To control the air flow during the whole test process, the valve and the air pressure of the combustion chamber air inlet form a closed-loop feedback system control system, which controls the air pressure of the combustion chamber air inlet by controlling the opening of the valve;

3.10 Exhaust fan:

3.10.1 Fan power: AC380V, 50Hz, 3Kw;

3.11 Temperature measurement in combustion chamber:

3.11.1 Combustion chamber floor temperature test:

3.11.1.1 Use a nickel-chromium (K type) thermocouple with a wire diameter of 1.0mm, a heat-resistant stainless steel sleeve with an outer diameter of 9.5mm, and a heat-resistant material in the middle, and the hot end protruding from the sleeve is 30mm;

3.12 Analytical Instruments

3.12.1 Oxygen measurement: use paramagnetic measurement. The analytical instrument imported from SIEMENS, Germany, can accurately check the change of the percentage of oxygen in the ventilation pipe during combustion, and then determine the combustion heat release of the material from the instantaneous oxygen concentration and oxygen consumption.
