1. Scope of application:

It is suitable for non-metallic material toxicity index test of halogen-free, low-smoke, and low-toxicity wires, cables or optical cables.

The test is performed in two parts:

Carry out a preliminary qualitative analysis to determine whether it contains nitrogen and sulfur;

If it is determined to contain nitrogen and sulfur, quantitative analysis of SO2, NOX and HCN should be carried out. If it is confirmed that nitrogen and sulfur are not contained, quantitative analysis of SO2, NOX and HCN may not be carried out.

2. Compliant standards:

2.1 Comply with GB/T19666-2019 "General Rules for Flame Retardant and Fire Resistant Electric Wires and Cables or Optical Fiber Cables" Appendix C "Toxicity Index Test Method".

2.2 Comply with BS EN 50305:2020 "Railway applications - Railway rolling stock cables having special fire performance - Test methods";

2.3 Compliant with NF X70-100, NF X 70-100-2

2.4 Comply with NF X70-100:2006 "Fire tests — Analysis of gaseous effluents Part 1: methods for analysing gases stemming from thermal degradation";

2.5 Comply with NF X70-100-2:2006 "Fire tests — Analysis of gaseous effluents Part 2: Tubular furnace thermal degradation method";

2.6 Complies with EN 45545-2:2013 "Railway Applications - Fire Protection of Railway Vehicles Part 2 Requirements for Fire Behavior of Materials and Components" Annex C "Testing Methods for Determination of Toxic Gases from Railway Products"

2.7 DIN 14521-1987、NF S61-820-1/IN12010、NF S61-820-2/IN12010

3. Performance parameters:

3.1 Tube furnace: The furnace has the characteristics of uniform temperature in the test area, low surface temperature and fast temperature rise and fall rate;

3.1.1 The effective length and diameter of the heating chamber are 600×ф42mm;

3.1.2 Tube furnace: operating temperature (800±10)°C; test time 40min.

3.1.3 Adopt P.I.D temperature control system;

3.1.4 Adopt electric heating system. Heating power: 220V /10KW;

3.2 Combustion tube:

3.2.1 Material: refractory tube made of silica and resistant to corrosive gases.

3.2.2 Specifications: the inner diameter is 40mm, the length extending from the inlet side of the tube furnace is 60~200mm, and the length extending from the outlet side is 60~100mm, leaving a gap for thermal expansion.

3.3 The total power is AC22OV 5KW.
