Pensky-Martin Closed Cup Flash Point Tester

1. Scope of application:

It is suitable for determining the flash point of flammable liquids, liquids with suspended particles, liquids whose surface tends to form a film under test conditions, and other liquids by the Pensky-Martin closed cup method. Widely used in electric power, petroleum, chemical industry, commodity inspection, scientific research and other departments.

Suitable for samples with a flash point higher than 40°C;

Pour the sample into the test cup, stir continuously at the specified rate, and heat the sample at a constant rate at specified temperature intervals. In the case of interrupting the stirring, introduce the fire source into the opening of the test cup, so that the sample vapor flashes instantly and spreads to the lowest temperature of the liquid surface. This temperature is the flash point at ambient atmospheric pressure, after calculating the flash point at atmospheric pressure.

2.1 Meet the standard requirements of GB/T261-2008, ISO 2719-2016 "Determination of flash point—Pensky-Martens closed cup method";

2.2 Comply with the standard requirements of ASTM D93-2018 "Standard test methods for Flash Point by Pensky-Martens Closed Cup Tester".


3. Main features:

3.1 Human-computer interaction is more convenient; the instrument has a power-off storage function.

3.2 The instrument has the functions of automatic ignition, display, locking and printing results, automatic cooling and so on.

3.3 Atmospheric pressure automatic correction, built-in calculation software, input the atmospheric pressure value, automatically perform atmospheric pressure correction on the experimental results, differential detection, automatic correction of system deviation.

3.4 The instrument has the advantages of accurate measurement, good repeatability, stable and reliable performance, and simple operation.


4. Main parameters:

4.1 Instrument composition: It consists of a test cup, a cover assembly, a heating chamber, an oil jacket and a temperature measuring device

4.2 Test cup:

4.2.1 Material: made of brass;

4.2.2 Specifications: inner diameter 54mm, height 56mm;

4.2.3 The test cup is equipped with a handle.

4.3 Cover assembly:

4.3.1 The test cup cover is made of brass;

4.3.2 Skateboard: made of brass with a thickness of about 2.4mm;

4.3.3 Igniter: The opening diameter of the tip of the ignition tube is about 0.7mm~0.8mm;

4.3.4 Automatic re-ignition device: used for automatic re-ignition of the flame;

4.3.5 Stirring device: install the center position of the test cup cover, with two double-blade metal slurry, and the distance between the slurry surface and the test cup is about 38mm;

4.4 Heating chamber and bath jacket: provide heat for the test cup, and the heating chamber is composed of an air bath and a bath jacket that can place the test cup;

4.5 Control part:

4.5.1 Display: color LCD display, size 320*240mm²

4.5.2 Operation mode: touch screen;

4.5.3 Repeatability: ≤1.5℃; in line with ASTM D93 GB/T261 standard

In step B, the temperature of the sample is raised at a rate of 1.0°C/min~1.5°C/min throughout the test period. Comply with the standard requirements of Section 10.2 and 10.3 of GB/T261-2008.

4.9 Stirring speed can be selected: Step A: 90-120r/min; Step B: 250±10 r/min
