Bundled Cable Vertical Flame Spread Test Apparatus

1. Scope of application:

1.1 It is suitable for judging and evaluating the ability of vertically bundled wires and cables or optical cables to inhibit the vertical spread of flames under specified conditions.

2.1 Compliant with IEC60332-3-10-2018 "Test on electric and optical fibre cables under fire conditions—Part 31: test for vertical flame spread of vertically-mounted bunched wires or cables—Apparatus";

2.2 Compliant with IEC60332-3-21:2018 "Test on electric and optical fibre cables under fire conditions—Part 32: Test for vertical flame spread of vertically-mounted bunched wires or cables—Category A F/R";

3.Main parameters:

3.1 Test box: It is a self-standing box with a width of (1000 ± 50) mm, a depth of (2000 ± 50) mm and a height of (4000 ± 50) mm. The rear wall and both sides of the test box should be thermally insulated with a heat transfer coefficient of about 0.7W.m-2.K-1. The material of the test box: high-grade stainless steel plate, covered with 65mm thick thermal insulation mineral fiber in the middle, and baking paint on the outside.

3.2 Air source:

3.2.1 The air flow at the air inlet can be adjusted to keep it at (5000±500) L/min before and during the test. It meets the requirements of clause 5.2 of GB/T 18380.31;

3.2.2 After the test is completed: if the sample is still burning after stopping the fire for one hour, there is an alarm and a device for forcibly stopping the burning by rain;

3.2.3 Size of air inlet at the bottom of combustion box: (800±20)×(400±10) (mm)

3.5.1 Flame temperature: adjustable from 450° to 950°;

3.5.2 Combustion gas: propane with a purity of 95%. (prepared by customer);
