Boeing Standard: BSS 7238 -- Aircraft Material Combustion Smoke Density Test

material flame retardant test, fire test-smoke density test: BSS 7238

  • BSS7238: Fire Test for Smoke Density

  • BSS7238: Flame retardant and fire protection test-smoke density determination

material flame retardant testing, fire testing BSS 7238 - Smoke density test

  • BSS 7238 Smoke Density Test-Introduction

BSS 7238 measures smoke generated by solid materials by measuring the attenuation of a light beam.

  • BSS 7238 Smoke Density Test - Test Method

The samples need to be dried at 60°C for 24 hours and placed at a temperature of 23°C and a humidity of 50%
The following parameters will be determined:
- Ds 1.5 Optical density after 1.5 minutes
- Ds 4.0 Optical density after 4 minutes
