1. This standard has been in use for 30 years. Since this standard has great practical value, it is ready to be promoted throughout the United States after completing some supplements.
2. TB117 is formulated based on reality after fully studying the causes of fires, and is more scientific. The test fire sources are cigarette burning test, imitating match ignition test and imitating a certain amount of newspaper ignition test, which are consistent with the actual foam fire scene.
3. As the export volume of furniture products increases, the adoption of this standard can avoid technical trade barriers caused by different technical regulations.

Resilient filling materials for upholstered furniture specified in accordance with California TB117 standards.
TB 117 standard analysis:
1. Elastic filling material cigarette test:
The char size of each sample should be close to 0.1 inches
2. Smoldering test of elastic filling materials
Test 3 samples per foam | If all samples have more than 80% non-smoldering residue | pass |
If 2 or more test specimens have less than 80% non-smoldering residue | Fail |
If a test sample has less than 80% non-smoldering residue | Add 3 more samples to test | If a test sample has less than 80% non-smoldering residue | Fail |
If all test samples have more than 80% non-smoldering residue | pass |
